General Motors Teams up with Netflix to Promote Electric Vehicles During the Big Game

We all know what the second Sunday of February means…television’s best commercials! This year, as the Chiefs and the Eagles square off in the NFL’s big game, General Motors is teaming up with Netflix to promote electric vehicles.

With increasing interest in electric vehicles globally, is it any wonder that automakers will be using this year’s championship game to promote their EV lineup? Electric vehicles are now replacing their gasoline-powered counterparts as the advertising focus during what is always one of television’s biggest days.

By teaming up with Netflix, General Motors is aiming to encourage more people to switch over to electric vehicles. Thanks to an ever-growing network of public charges, longer-range batteries, and fast and convenient home charging solutions, more and more drivers are making the switch over to EVs.

GM’s EV strategy has been all about increasing awareness and driving interest in its growing lineup of electric vehicles. What better way to do that than by partnering with one of the most popular streaming platforms around?

This partnership means that Netflix will begin featuring EVs and charging stations from General Motors in their upcoming series and films. To promote this, General Motors has produced a series of commercials, featuring Will Ferrell, to air on TV while the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles meet in this year’s championship game.

These commercials will feature some of the newest electric vehicles in GM’s lineup, including the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, GMC Hummer EV, and Cadillac Lyriq, along with Will Ferrell in different episodes of some of Netflix’s biggest hits, such as Squid Game and Bridgerton.

For the second consecutive year, General Motors aims to use the NFL’s biggest stage to promote their new EVs and all of its technology. During last year’s ad Will Ferrell, alongside actors Kenan Thompson and Awkwafina, attempted to take their electric vehicles to Scandinavia to see why Norway sells so many EVs.

With other EV manufacturers are expected to advertise their electric vehicles during the big game as well, GM has taken a unique approach to get their message out there. After joining forces with Netflix and featuring some of their top series, they hope to make electric vehicles more visible while also increasing awareness among viewers.

So while you’re enjoying the Big Game this year, don’t forget to keep an eye out for GM’s electric vehicle commercials! Who knows? You may even end up seeing one of your favorite streaming series featuring some of the latest and most advanced EVs.
